Clinical experience

Following residency, Dr. Jubert worked in community mental health in Juneau, Alaska, treating the underserved Alaska Native population. That experience sharpened his understanding of how cultural background, geographic isolation, and limited healthcare access affect mental health outcomes. He gained clinical experience across adult, child/adolescent, and geriatric populations.

Treatment philosophy

How care is delivered here

Dr. Jubert approaches psychiatric care holistically, with emphasis on understanding how a patient’s physical health, socioeconomic circumstances, social connections, spiritual practices, and life stress all contribute to their mental health. A psychiatric symptom is rarely isolated. Depression may be driven by an undiagnosed thyroid condition. Anxiety may be worsened by unrecognized sleep apnea. ADHD symptoms in a child may coexist with trauma that standard evaluations have not explored.

Comprehensive, whole-person initial evaluation

The first appointment at this practice is built around that understanding. Rather than a brief symptom checklist followed by a prescription, the initial evaluation examines your complete medical history, psychiatric background, family patterns, and the real-world circumstances affecting your daily life. Physical health conditions that can cause or worsen psychiatric symptoms are identified before treatment decisions are made.

Integrated medication management and counseling

Medication management and counseling are treated as integrated components of care, not separate services requiring separate appointments with separate providers. When medication is prescribed, the reasoning is explained. When counseling or coping skill development supports the treatment plan, it happens in the same appointment. Treatment adjusts over time as life circumstances shift, physical health changes, or new stressors emerge.

Continuity of care with a single physician

This is a single-physician practice by design. Dr. Jubert conducts every evaluation, develops every treatment plan, and provides every follow-up. You are not handed off after intake. You are not rotated through a roster of clinicians. The physician who made the diagnostic decisions is the same physician monitoring your progress and adjusting your care.

Type of clients

Who this practice serves.

Adults and geriatric patients

Adults aged 25 through geriatric experiencing depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, OCD, ADHD, insomnia, or substance use concerns. Particularly those whose symptoms may connect to underlying physical health conditions, life stress, or past trauma that previous providers have not fully addressed.

Parents of children and adolescents

Parents seeking psychiatric evaluation and medication management for children and adolescents with ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, anxiety, depression, or behavioral concerns who need more than therapy alone. Parents receive a thorough explanation of diagnosis, treatment options, and what to expect.

Veterans and first responders

As a veteran-owned practice, Inner Banks Psychiatry offers a military and first responder discount for self-pay patients. Dr. Jubert's own military service and his clinical experience with PTSD, trauma-related conditions, and the particular stressors of service-connected life inform his work with this population.
